DETAILS
Do you have a Chrysler, Dodge or Jeep REC navigation (nav) radio with a broken directional control 'joystick'? If so, this is the repair for you. Simply complete the payment process and will will send you a link showing how to remove your display/control board (and face*) and send it to us for the repair. We typically complete the repair within 3 business days of receiving it.
We use BRAND NEW parts, not used take-outs like some shops. We also use the revised version that is less prone to breaking. It has a shorter shaft to lessen the torque and the movement directions have been reduced to 4: up, down, left and right. (The original problematic version allowed for diagonal movement too. The original part is no longer manufactured because, well, it was problematic... So this is your only option.) Our replacement also has a slightly thicker sleeve around the shaft to help eliminate cracking. As a result, the back of the face often needs drilled out. *If you send the face along with the control/display board, we will do this work for you. If you don't send the face along with the board, you will have to remove the excess material yourself. This modification doesn't affect the appearance at all. Please ONLY send the display/control board (and face*) to us, because the internal CD6 mechanism in these radios is sensitive and doesn't always survive shipping. We are NOT responsible for problems that result from shipping the entire radio!
Basic procedures for removing the display/control board AND face (with pictures) will be sent to you within one business day of your payment. As long as you take your time, it's a very easy process. This doesn't mean the display/control board is impervious to damage. Please use common sense and wrap it VERY well for the trip to our shop. UPS recommends 2 inches of fill on EVERY side of an item. In other words, make sure there's no way it can contact the inside of the box. The last thing you want is to send your board in for the joystick repair and end up needing the screen replaced too.
This joystick repair carries a 6 month warranty.
This is not a flat-rate repair service for your radio. This is for joystick switch replacement only! For the REC navigation radio only! If you want your radio fully re-manufactured, you can send it off through a Chrysler dealer for $450. If you send it off through Chrysler for the joy stick repair only, guess what. It's still $450...
The joystick knob is NOT included as part of this repair. This is a repair listing, not a parts listing. You will re-use your knobs.

INSTRUCTIONS
Instructions for removing your face and board and shipping it to us will be emailed to you within one business day of your payment. *Why do we need the board and the face?* Simple. The new joystick has a 'beefier' base. As a result, the backside of the face needs modified to allow it to fit. (The hole for the base of the joystick must be drilled out a little bigger.) If not, the face will not fit around the joystick base, which will keep a few buttons around the joystick from touching the board. If they're not touching the board, they won't respond when you press them. This modification is not visible from the front of the radio. It affects the backside of the face only. It's better if we do the work here so we can make sure your face is re-assembled correctly and working properly. Plus it's one less thing for you to worry about.
When you ship your face and board to us, you will need to use common sense. You don't want it to get here with additional problems because it wasn't packaged properly. The major shipping companies require a minimum of 2 inches of fill on every side of the item in order for them to potentially honor an insurance claim. Here are some strong recommendations for your shipment to us:
-Purchase coverage for the replacement value, to protect yourself from damage or loss
-Don't throw it in an under-sized box with one piece of bubble or some newspaper!
-Do use lots of quality fill/stuffing so the face can't come in contact with the side of the box
--This keeps the face from moving around in the box during shipment
-Make sure the fill/stuffing is not the kind that can smash down in shipping and result in voids
--We use bubble wrap with the large bubbles
-Make sure the box you are using is at least 4 inches wider, longer and taller than the face
--This allows 2 inches of space between every side of the face and the box

-Shipping cost is based on weight and zip code. This site does the figuring, not us. If you feel their calculation is high, you might be underestimating the package weight, size, and/or current shipping costs from our zip code (62401) to yours. Please don't ding us for shipping in the ratings, as we have no control over ever-increasing carrier rates.
-We will enter a tracking number into your order details here on the site.
They will email it to you if your notification preferences are set correctly.
-A signature is not typically required. If you are not home to receive the package, it will most likely be left at your door. Please monitor it's progress and arrange to collect it when it arrives.
