This is a parts listing, not a radio! Some people buy from our parts listings thinking they're getting a radio. This is despite VERY clear titles and ads. (And text on the picture, in some cases.) The Ford radios manufactured by Delco are known for bad button wear. Don't let a worn out looking radio drag your vehicle down. Get your replacement faceplate from ReplacementRadios.
If you're in need of a face for the Delco CD radio in your 2005-2006 Ford or Mercury vehicle because of worn buttons, you've come to the right place. This is a brand new trimplate with brand new lens and buttons.
The buttons are all black. This is not the chrome-trimmed version that started appearing in 2007 and it is NOT compatible on those radios. You can use most of these buttons on the CD6 radio. The presets, seek, text, am-fm and cd buttons are the same, for instance, and those are the ones that usually wear on the other radios. So simply swap those into your face and you're good to go. (The eject button is definitely different from the CD6 radios. The other buttons not addressed here may or may not be the same.)
We sometimes include a 'parts' circuit board behind the face simply to keep everything in place but please understand that the board, if included, is for parts only and is not guaranteed to be functional. (Sometimes we use cardboard or other types of retainers to keep the buttons in place.) You are paying for the face only. The board, if included, is for button retention only. Please do not buy this listing if your only need is the board because it is not guaranteed to be included or even to be good if it is there.
This can ONLY be used on Delco manufactured Ford CD radios and your vehicle must also be on the application list above. This is NOT compatible with the Visteon or Pioneer manufactured Ford radios. If your radio has button wear, you probably have a Delco because that was an INCREDIBLY common problem with them. However, if you want to be sure, pull your radio and make sure it does not say Pioneer or Visteon on any of the stickers. Another indicator it is a Delco is an 8-digit numeric part number above the Ford number on the part sticker. Returns are not accepted so make sure you're ordering the right thing.
**This face does not have the mp3 labeling but it is still compatible on the 05/06 mp3 radios. Who cares if the button doesn't say FOLDER? You know what it's going to do when you press it. What's more important is that your radio doesn't look junky anymore. Appearance does not change functionality. Functionality is controlled by the boards and you will be re-using yours, so you will retain the mp3 functions.
Whatever you do, make sure to unplug your radio from the harness and let it sit for at least 60 minutes before attempting to do the repair.
This is NOT the same as the 2007+ version. This is also not compatible on Visteon or Pioneer manufactured radios. Returns are not accepted, so make sure you're ordering the right thing.
Instructions for installation or removal are not included. If you do not feel comfortable attempting this replacement or are not qualified to perform the replacement you should seek an electronics shop that will do it for you or ask us about sending it in for us to do it. We can tell you that you MUST disconnect the negative battery terminal or remove the plugs from the back of the radio and let it sit for at least 60 minutes BEFORE you attempt to do any work on the radio. Failure to do so can result in a short within the radio. We've had many reports of it from people who ignored this caution. Don't be one of them!!
