APPLICATIONS
This drive was removed from an assembly line leftover radio we have in such great quantity, we knew we would never sell them all. So, yes, the drive was installed in a radio, but the radio itself was never installed in a vehicle. So it has never been used. (Other than on our test bench, before it is shipped.)
This should work in many 2002-2006 GM vehicles. (We've definitely used it in Buick and Chevy radios from @2003.) Do yourself a favor and pop the case cover off the radio so you can make sure you have one of the part numbers listed. (There are other GM cassette drives which had different connections or mounting methods.)
There are strips of vibration dampening foam material on the top of the drive that deteriorated a bit and stuck to the lid when it was removed from the radio. Obviously this has absolutely no bearing on functionality of the drive. It just makes it look a little ugly. Do NOT assume you received a used drive because it isn't a pretty little boxed item. It is EXACTLY what we have advertised here. Check our feedback. We're honest and reliable. Do not attempt this repair with the radio still plugged in!
