DETAILS This is a female plug plus an antenna adapter for changing your factory stereo over to aftermarket in select 2000+ GM vehicles. The plug fits over the standard 24-pin GM plug found in the vehicles listed below. The antenna adapter converts the GM plug to the standard motorola style plug used on aftermarket radios. Pigtails of approximately 5 inches are attached to the plug. You will need to add an extra wire (usually red) for switched power and connection of it will need made at the same time. This is necessary because accessory power is controlled through the Data BUS wire on the factory radio, but your aftermarket radio will not be capable of communicating with the Data BUS. So it will need it's own power wire. You may have rear seat audio, CD changer, On-Star, XM radio, DVD, etc. Your aftermarket radio will not be compatible with any of those options, so they will not be retained. **See additional info below.) This style of plug was used on most Class 2 computer-integrated Buick, Chevy, GMC, Oldsmobile, Pontiac and Saturn radios that were approximately 4 3/8 inches tall, starting in 2000. This plug will have the aftermarket standard wire colors, so wire assignment is easily identified on it. (See the color chart in the pictures attached to this listing.) Simply snap this into place over the factory plug and mate up the wires with the like colors on your aftermarket radio harness. One other note: Our supplier sometimes casts the plug itself in a different color plastic. Obviously that has no impact on use. **Please note: use of this plug does not provide for retention of features in the vehicle like door chimes, steering wheel control, OnStar, XM, DVD, etc. You will need to purchase interface modules for your aftermarket radio if you wish to retain features normally controlled by or played through the factory radio.
