DETAILSThis is a female plug and antenna adapter for converting the factory 22 pin plug in many 2007+ Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep radios for the purpose of installing an aftermarket stereo. (If you need the opposite version for re-installing the factory plug and radio, check our store for the CW-RP22n.) Wiring pigtails of approximately 5 inches are attached. This would be used if you are trying to install an aftermarket stereo in your vehicle and do not want to cut your factory plug off and affect it's resale value. This style of plug was used on many (not all) Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep radios, starting in 2007. See APPLICATIONS below for examples of vehicles that used this plug, as well as notes about some exceptions. (There was another plug style offered. Especially in 2007.) It connects to the factory plug that would go in the radio, allowing you to convert to an aftermarket radio without cutting up your wiring. A switched power wire is included for your convenience, since there is no dedicated accessory power wire in the factory radio harness. (Your factory radio switched power was controlled by a CAN-BUS signal.) You will have to run the included power wire (red) to a 12v switched accessory source in your vehicle on one end and to your aftermarket radio harness on the other. Chrysler had another/older version of the 22 pin plug. The version we are selling here is easily distinguished from the older version by the beveled bottom (as pictured) corners on ours. This gives that side of the plug a crowned look. The other/older 22-pin plug was squared off on all 4 corners, not just 2. This plug is sometimes cast as gray and sometimes as white. We will send whichever one we grab out of the box. Obviously the color of the plug makes no difference when it comes to functionality...APPLICATIONSThis works in all vehicles on the list if you have a radio with a 22-pin plug, but most applications require an antenna adapter too. There was more than one version of the 22-pin plug.
